COVID-19 State of Kansas Executive Order No. 20-20
Temporarily Allowing Notaries and Witnesses to Act Via Audio-Video Communication Technology
Our office has continued to provide legal services to our clients during this time of quarantine, especially those wishing to make/update their Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and living wills.
Currently, we are offering meetings by telephone, video conferencing and on a case by case basis, in office meetings. Our signings have been a bit more challenging as they require, in some instances, 2 witnesses, a notary, and the attorney to explain the documents. We have had some signings in our parking lot so the clients and our staff are not exposed unnecessarily to germs/viruses. We will continue to do this but with this new order in place, we can now offer a more convenient way to sign these documents, especially for our clients that are unable to be out of their homes or facilities.
The signing must be done with audio and visual by all parties so the notary and witnesses can verify the identity of the person and make sure they can watch the signer.
We look forward to working with you at this unprecedented time. We are here to help! We care. We listen. We counsel.
